| So if hardcore is dead no one told the forefathers, now cruising into grand fatherhood still doing it, and most of all no one got the memo to CBK because Broadcasting is a fucking modern hardcore event. It’s like going back to Mike Tysons hey day and that of the heavy weight bout; CBK showed up for a heavy weight fight. Relentless vocally beginning to end, every track hits, and they bring the hardcore and then some with superior knowledge of music, technology, their equipment, their craft and most of all the song. Shit is an event for 07 and served up fearlessly. Broadcasting possesses everything I loved about Wake the Dead and then some new true to the CBK brand of Hardcore growth type shit. Whether Andrew is stretching it out, getting a little Leeway-esque and open as in The Blackstone or just finding some more keys and tones in his voice on Broadcasting, he is still hardcore top to bottom and doesn’t try to sing sing. The guitar leads are great as well, not to metalcore and not to busy with all that over tracking, endless ringing, leads over the top, that are all the rave these days. The consistency in the production is fucking sick. They must have tracked the whole thing in one day and it translates like a captured set, which many would claim to strive for on record, but few achieve. Broadcasting is truly inspiring in the face of all the over epitomizers of hardcore out there who would like to simplify things in our thing and CBK defied them all by going for it and making an epic hardcore record.
