This band is doing the whole pre-85 hardcore thing where it’s still just really snotty punk, but a bit more intense. Think early southern California hardcore mixed with Poison Idea (ripped off cover from Ian MacKaye EP). It’s got a Career Suicide/Fucked Up/Direct Control vibe with intros, solos, and actual bridges. Basically it’s good song writing from a regular old hardcore punk band. This is really impressive for a demo and anyone reading this rag should get themselves a copy. I’m just bitter that this isn’t my band.
EDIT: After listening again and seeing this band live I see a lot of post-hardcore elements to it, but without the retarded ass indie rocker shit I can't stand. I can't really explain it and maybe I'm not into the jazz they're influenced by, but there's something really inventive about this and I just keep backing this band more and more. Fugazi meets Poison Idea... yeah, that's a good summary.
