So last Thursday night was dope. First show I did not drink at in a long time, though there was an all star KOC cast. Luke of The Killer, Dumb Tony, Lee and Frank Family Tattoo, Jason, not the mention the bands like Funeral March, Charlie's band when he is home and not protecting planets Earths finest young band, who are heavy and finally have demos available. And From the Chest which is Ryan, Walk the Line, and Shane Merill, of the Killer and Scene Chicago, new-ish band who totally rock with groove in the HC. Though is was not the last band of the night, Furious Styles was for me, as I had to go, so I apologize to the Hoods for not being able to stick around. Furious Styles was exactly that and a week after their new recorxd dropped, the same day as the CBK record, 2 great events in current hardcore, they tore it up. And live that shit is not as hip hoppy as the demo and the incredible new record Life Lessons, though there is a neck rock in that poppin' double base and thunder these young guys bring on their first national tour. MexiMike is all fast hardcore in the vocals live. Incredibly tight, they sound like they could play Metro right away they are so technically on. Furious in the live style at least. My pictures on my camera do nothing as far as justice to this great show, I had looked forward to for some time. |
