MTG plays metallic, beatdown hardcore. To me this sounded like one long song. These guys seem to only know two tempos, if they were to switch it up again and throw in some more fast parts and more original sounding breaks, I think the contrast would do them some good. As it is, most of the material is reduced to a sludgy background drone. Despite these shortcomings I still see hints of good peaking out from behind the band. The guitar tone would sound good if it was used in a different context and I heard a couple cool riffs thrown around here and there, the production is good as well, but this isn't enough to rectify the sameness of all six tracks on here. The CD is packaged very nicely, the cover art was tastefully done and looks good without being overly slick. It's a shame the band seems afraid to experiment  with their sound and try something new.
