Hardcore and hip hop have always been genres with the picky listeners. Cold World's newest release, "Dedicated to Babies Who Came Feet First" succeeds in picking, cutting, and pasting the best of both worlds into 11 tracks that unify the sounds of gritty, working-class hardcore with sample-heavy, old school flow. With the tracks book-ended by a slow, gangsta-piano backed intro and outro, and cut up with similar interludes, the flow of the entire package is like that of a hip hop record. The intro eases you into a smooth lull, then dives right into the first track with a punchy but heavy guitar intro, and from here on, it is the attention to detail that makes the record really stand out. It becomes apparent that nothing was just thrown in or forced, everything seems to be in the right place, from the bluesy metal solos under the chunky rhythm guitar in "Time to Breakdown" to the ghastly metal vocals during breakdowns on "Boom Bye Bye" and "Do the knowledge." These guys have made a great record front to back,  and get extra points for sampling Fabolous in “Liars, Thieves” and making it somehow work. Well Played.
