SICK OF IT ALL
DEATH TO TYRANTS

SICKOFITALL

9 albums in 20 years, authors of one of the greatest hardcore (not just NYHC) albums of all time, Blood Sweat and No Tears; career NYHC artists keeping the flame of hardcore alive and bringing it to more people worldwide than any other band, with the utmost consistency and knowledge of what they do, SOIA deliver a very powerful SOIA record with Death to Tyrants. One of their latest efforts may have been called Relentless, but Death To Tyrants truly is, with production dwarfing what I have heard the last few years.

With that same instensity and relentlessness, after 9 years and 20 albums, the lyrics have grown a little tired and lack some of the conviction, poetry and fluidity Injustice System possessed. Though they may cover the same anti big government, demand more from a life subject matter, some of the lyrics are just awkward, the same ol', and a little forced. SOIA still shred, and it ain't just walls of rhythym like many new bands, as they punish many styles that make up their brand of hardcore. Nothing but respect for NYHC breathren's latest, but a couple flows just dont for me; Take the Night off and Machete I did not need to follow the lyric sheet for. Get into Uprising Nation, track 4 on, and when the "Death to Tyrants" chant busts, I feel home for Always War and Die Alone.
