The
Stash? (Livin the High-Life) |
|
The
Stash?
Yeah that’s the right, The Stash? No,
that’s not a question; it’s an answer and the beginning
of the backlash against the stylish trends and current mockery
of what heavy music is and was about. A basic musical instinct,
simple in origin, complex and thought out in its composition
and lyrical content, intense and explosive in its delivery,
while radically original as it fights all that is seemingly
trying to smother us. You have not heard anything like this
though you may hear elements reminiscent of the offerings laid
before by former gods of thrash themselves. Vocally there is
not an approach like this anywhere and the grooves that seek
you out amidst the chaos take you to the eye and guts of The
Stash?. Upon my first experience in stumbling across
the Stash? at the Fireside Bowl, Chicago, their home town, my
reaction seemed like most of the rooms’, “What the
fuck?.....(then)...Oh Shit!” The Stash?
can play with anyone and be all and none of the above. The Stash?
represent a watershed musically in the face of the c..rap getting
made and played out there today. Don’t even try to put
the Stash? in a box, you will fuck it up. The
Stash? No that ain’t a question I told you. You ain’t
listening, now listen!
