Death By Stereo

Into the Valley of Death

Opera metal for the masses. At first I was a little put off by the singers voice. Dare I say, it reminded me of Rick (25 Ta Life) which is not a compliment by any stretch. It took a minute, but I soon found myself falling in love with the vocals and the band. “My Bad” on the initial, wack-ass comparison. This record is a mix of fast, thrashy, anthemic metal with a vocalist that changes his voice from a scream to some theatrical type shit. Oh yeah, there are plenty of mosh parts and screaming in there for all of you of the “screamo” ilk as well as guitar solos for all of the old-school Metalheads. If you’re new to Death By Stereo take a minute and really listen before you pass judgment. You might be in for a pleasant surprise. Oh yeah, and they also get points for one the best song titles of the year with, I Wouldn’t Piss In Your Ear if Your Brain was on Fire. Sic! (epitaph)

The RaveoDanishASSnettes more like. Music this thin should be fucking punishable. If I wanted to listen to the Happy Days soundtrack I would pull out the real stuff not look to some Danish 2 piece who caught a late break on the garage let down, to make some depressing arty music of the like and time. Fall Out Boy

Finally a potentially popular youthful punk record that is clever and serious. I am so sick of fucking, these FUN, IRONIC lyrics from the bands that may be considered in this lane. This ain’t a joke dude; this is your band. Thanks for taking it seriously Fall Out Boy, unlike so many others. Great, intelligent record and in a year FOB goes from church basements to filling the Metro. Props on working and a great record and whereas most young outfits are Dead on Arrival these kids are just getting started! (fueled by ramen)

Greenhaven

From the stoner rock meets NYHC, Phoenix's Windigo frontman, Matt Strangeways is on to lead another bad ass rockin' ‘out there’ crew called Greenhaven. Fast livin’ epitomizing party rock on some dark paote trip while hitting some of the trashiest spots in American culture, Greenhaven have pulled from a vault of David Lee, Sabbath and some of the metal and hardcore that has put Phoenix and Strangeways on the map, not losing any of the highland culture Strangeways has become legendary in incorporating. Let’s get fucking downedness. Drinking, hotrodding, and may other absurd pictures come to mind as I rock Supernature and Southbound (mother juggs and speed). The world as we know it just may be ready to go this far to ROCK!
