Dark
and dynamic, lyrically rich, this is my favorite record
of the fall so far and a great fall record at that.
Small Brown Bike sharpens the edges that make days painful
on The River Bed. Each piece is complex and
melodic, filled with tension and gloom. First listen,
Sincerely Yours hit me like a fucking body!
And then everything spoke to me on the record. (lookout) |

This
is a modern day Rush for the snug jean, white belt contingent.
It’s no Power Windows but still gets
a thumbs up from me. The only complaint I have with
this album is with the production. I think that if they
had spent a little more time working out the tones and
levels it might’ve given Rush a run for it’s
money. But for now I’ll just wait for the next
record when they’ll probably have Andy Wallace
on the production team as well as having every tight
shirt wearing mahfuka tripping over themselves to get
near the lead singers afro-puffs. (equal

What
a steaming pile of boredom. Nothing special here…just
the same ‘ol, same ‘ol. I’d much rather
pump some Bad Religion (and I’m not even a big
fan) instead, but that’s just me. If you’re
a fan play it loud, and pogo, or something I guess.

You
know this dude is from Minneapolis and awesome. Sometimes
how much I love a record can be all thrown in to a line
from the record and I feel it’s a great slam on
the horrible music and thin pop people are calling hip
hop anyway. This ugly white boy from cold as fuck Minny
did his part to do something to save and he states so
well, “fuck all y’all, stop
writing raps and go play volleyball.”
Big props this kid that was also at the Thrice Thursday
show last week at the Quest. “Star
Struck, Small Talk, Art Fucks is no fun!”
Look for MTV2 to start sucking a dick!
