Throwdown

This is like some hard ass hardcore. Typical HC lyrics and a sound I felt was Pantera hardcore with a lot of stomp parts; mucho jun jun jung. That may sound negative right there, but I haven’t even got to the straight edge part yet. Or the preaching that claims not to be preaching and it’s my problem and my insecurities and that’s why I take it that way. Stand your Ground? GB? No Throwdown sorry. All that said; I enjoy the harshness so much I can’t even take it! Plenty of places to dance and toss a few fucking Haymakers on this beast! (Trustkilll)

People seem to be sweating this band lately and I really don’t get why. It sounds like every other piece of new metal nonsense on the radio. These guys are fooling this new neo-hardcore scene into thinking that they are something fresh and new. But then again, I guess it’s not too difficult to fool those kids anyway. (Hopeless)

How cool is Thorp to put out a split by 2 of their bands playing their favorite hardcore classics? Great fun and something we all, in bands or not, always wanted to do; thus the frequent covers of hardcore classics at shows over the years, in some cases while the original bands were still rocking it. Awesome! Fans of NSK and Stampin’ Ground best get up in here and I must admit their selections would have made my cover record too: Malfunction – Cro-Mags, Bringin’ It Down – Judge, United Blood – AF, By a Thread – Inside Out, Fuck the Middle East – SOD, I’d Rather Be Sleeping – DRI, and I Want More – Suicidal Tendencies. Oh shit just noticed. There is a North Side Kings original on here too! (thorp)

Howard Jones with Killswitch Engage, awesome! Finally this bad ass has thrown down on record with his ‘not so new any more’ band! Hatebreed is tight and the Slipknot track from the demo is something I have not heard at least. The rest like most soundtracks these days have a bunch of,hey look what I got going on and what soundtrack my new label got me on. In most cases it will do nothing for you dude! (roadrunner)
