Jet
fucking Black fucking New fucking
Year. Incredible. If this is an indication
of the work to come on their next record, I am truly
excited about their first record on Island this spring.
As far as the live stuff found here, capturing this
band live on record is impossible. Jet Black! (Victory)

I
really enjoyed this record. I was hesitant at first,
like what is everyone doing? Another band back together?
But these guys are originators. They have a sound a
few individuals made a hardcore staple, and still continue
to do it better than anyone else has since. Elements
and sounds on this record take me back to my younger
days’ as it must have taken everyone involved
on this project. The lyrics are strong, reminiscent
of DC early 80’s hardcore; challenging, thoughtful,
DIY on a few, and on others they are reflective of someone
who lived that, did that, and is now a little older,
a little wiser, and sees the differences. The band knows
real frustration in and with the “world we made.”
They have incorporated those insights. I also love the
vocals. They are powerful but melodic and break into
those spoken shorts that helped define their sound and
style. Brian’s guitar sounds as you would have…you
know he’s on it. The recording is great. I love
when you can hear separation in the four. In regard
to Dag Nasty and Minority
of One, it’s as if after all the
things we have done since, tried since, had to endure
since, been a part of since, realized since, seen since,
and happened since, four guys, come together to do something
equivalent to the contemporary Dag Nasty
in addition to making a great record. The result served
to reinforce how powerful a style and sound they had
long ago. Some people may say I got a little deep here,
but I take some of my HC really serious. Seeing
Ghosts really gets me. Do not hesitate.
Get this record! Whether you were around then or not.
Younger kids will quickly learn Dag Nasty
and Minority of One is relevant.

This
EP, by a very new and young band, takes me back, yet
it moves one
forward. Some things sound cunningly simple and familiar,
but the basics
and songs are so good. There is power in the lyric and
the vocal. Many will
say, Burn, Absolution, Bad Brains.
I say dope. Is it wrong to have your
influences evident in your songs? Charge
seem to have direction and a
sound. (Rebel Soul)
