This
record could possibly be my favorite record of the year,
so far. Charge combines elements of some of my favorite
bands. Part Bad Brains, Burn, Absolution, and Rage.
The combination may sound a bit ambitious but goddamn
do they do it well. From the opening congas of Universal
Tribe into the speed frenzied Absolution-esque
Living In Chaos to the reggae
breakdown of Love Vs. Hate.
Charge does an incredible job of taking you on a trip
through an assortment of musical landscapes. A brilliant
combination of swirling guitar work, incredibly tight
and dynamic rhythm section, all brought together by
vocals filled with conviction and style.
It’s
refreshing to hear a band not recycling Iron Maiden
riffs and still keeping the very essence of what makes
music inspiring and forward thinking. Get this record.
You’ll be doing yourself a favor. The one complaint
I have is that it’s only 6 songs. But I guess
it just amps me up for that full length. (hellbent) |

Now
I did not know what to expect on the move to Fat Wreck
Chords, but this record, like AM!s rest, is effin’
ridiculous. I don’t think anyone is writing music
this good. The simple poetry spoken about our existence,
the range....fav wreck of late last year, if not the
whole thing. I think there will be some major douche’s
jumpin’ on the cowboys horse and wagon during
this one if not straight kissing it. Its like angry
folk music for those forced to walk the current earff.

How
can I best describe this record…Its like Lucha
Libre featuring a match between Paul Bearer and Jimmy
Gestapo with special ref Evan Seinfeld. And if you don’t
know who these dudes are then you better go do some
homework. But anyways, ever since I first saw this band
in the Bronx or at Wetlands where Martin decided to
treat the crowd to a delicious hero, BCS has always
held a special place in this heart of stone. But, don’t
let the sense of humor fool you; these guys are no hacks.
They bring it just as ferociously as the abovementioned
bands. And they decided to include my fave jam, Narco
Cabron. The only criticism I have with
Chin Music is with the production. I think
it would serve Billyclub to bring the production up
a notch. Beef that shit up a little.
You
don’t have to be from the Boogie to understand
the shit these cats are droppin. WEPAAAAAAA!!!!!!! (inner
strength)

If
someone asked me if I could make a recommendation and
they asked for a current young band playing metal well,
I would suggest From Ashes Rise. Dark and dynamic, harsh
and dramatic, some chords take me back to Overkills
Overkill. This metal is for the hardcore at
heart, like a few out there rocking right now, that
some young bucks would consider hardcore. Wait ‘til
the metal heads catch on! (jadetree)
