This
show was fucking packed. Loads of emo, pop-punk kids
to scoop up all the latest screamo vibes. I was kind
of looking forward to this show as I was curious to
see several of the bands. I was shortly in for my first
dose of reality.
My
Chemical Romance was on by the time I got in. For the
short time that I was subjected to this band I was in
shear pain. Fucking horrendous. Bad metal riffs under
wack ass, wannabe singing. If you’re going to
throw down “The Metal” in any form, the
least you could do is know good riffs from bad ones.
The singer wore a leather jacket the entire set. Mad
Corny. Whatever, people seemed to enjoy them.
Movielife
were up next. They exploded on stage to the delight
of the hometown crowd. Old songs mixed with some new
ones. I wasn’t completely sold on the new stuff
but this band never disappoints me so I’ll wait
till I listen to the record before I pass any real judgment.
They seemed a little out of it but pulled the show off.
The
Used leapt on the stage and the place proceeded to go
buckwild. A lot of their songs were much heavier than
the shit you hear on the radio. Great stage presence
by the entire band. Of course they played “Taste
of Ink” and kids followed suit by throwing on
their dancing shoes to rep for their peoples. The set
grew to be a little boring after a while but impressive
nonetheless.
Didn’t
stick around for Finch because I just didn’t want
to. Overall, a decent show.
Always
remember to Guard Your Grill & Knuckle Up (especially
at emo shows because they tend to get dangerous)…dominicanedge |
