After
the Bath, Fairweather, The Reunion Show, The Movielfe
Knitting Factory, New
York, NY
December 26, 2002
Walk
in the Knitting Factory way too early. It’s 6
pm and doors don’t open till 7. I sit and proceed
to feel like that old guy that you would always see
at shows. I never thought I’d be that guy even
though it was pretty inevitable. Here’s a piece
of advise for the kids. It’s okay to rock a couple
of patches, maybe some buttons on your gear. But, please
stop covering your shit with every insignificant band
out there. Keep that shit under control. Well, anyway,
fast-forward to the show.
After
the Bath were on first. Pretty solid for a young band.
Decent songs. It’s plainly obvious that they have
to get their show chops together. A little lacking in
energy but, a good performance. I’m curious to
hear these kids in a year or so.
Up
next were Fairweather but I couldn’t hang. McDonalds
was calling.
Next
up was The Reunion Show. Sounds like Weezer but no where
near as good. Next…
The
Movielife goes on to a packed house. Kids go crazy.
At this point I had been there way too long and couldn’t
even pay attention to the music. They seemed to play
a solid set…I think.
I’m
out…dominicanedge
