Maximum
Penalty, Step2Far, and a bunch of other bands I never heard
of, and didn’t want to see
So, this is not
much of a review since I only saw one band. I guess it doesn’t
really matter since the primary reason for my presence this
evening was to catch the return of Maximum Penalty.
This was a very
special night for two reasons. First, was the return of original
guitarist, Joe Affe and second was the fact that they would
only play songs off of their, now legendary blue demo (and
some other older cuts, as well). As an added treat, temporarily
on bass, was Sergio Vega of Quicksand fame. His presence in
the band tonight definitely added a vibe to the band that
I had never heard before. A lot more bottom that I wasn’t
use to. The music was powerful but funky in that signature
MP style. Even though they played old songs they kept it light
with a child like exuberance. They even did, “All Your
Boyz.” SWEET!
